Francesco Dellamorte (Rupert Everett) has the unenviable task of disposing of the living dead within the Italian township of Buffalora. It seems that for whatever reason, dead bodies in that area tend to reanimate themselves exactly one week after the original cardiac arrest, and they must be prevented from escaping into the community. But Dellamorte's commission is interrupted when a bereaved love interest comes into his life. Thus is the premise of Michele Soavi's acclaimed 1994 horrifically dark comedy.
