'FEAST' YOUR EYES ON THIS REVIEW!

Feast Somewhere near a small desert town, its business as usual at the local tavern. That is, until a terrified stranger storms inside and the barflys find it's no longer a night for a leisurely drink; it's a night to fight for survival. Nearby, creatures have escaped a military research facility. They are fearsome beasts created with the spliced DNA of the world's most vicious predators. and they're hungry. Now, the men and women inside the "Beer Trap" will have to barricade the doors, craft their weapons, band together and pray to survive the night. The Feast is about to begin....Now read John Gray's review of this nightmarish romp right here, or alternately click on the graphic to your left. He says it's pretty damned good, and I'm inclined to believe him.

Directed by "Project Greenlight" winner and first time filmmaker John Gulager, the ensemble cast includes Balthazar Getty ("Alias"), Henry Rollins (IFC's "The Henry Rollins Show"), Navi Rawat ("The O.C."), Josh Zuckerman (Surviving Christmas), Judah Friedlander (MTV2's hit show "Wonder Showzen"), Jason Mewes (Clerks II), Jenny Wade (Rumor Has It) and Krista Allen (HBO's "Unscripted"). From Executive Producers Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris Moore and Wes Craven, the horrifying, unrated DVD will include 5 deleted scenes, outtakes, two featurettes ("Horror under the spotlight: The Making of Feast" and "The Blood and Guts of Gary Tunnicliffe") and a feature-length audio commentary with the filmmakers. Feast will be available October 17.

Or if you're thinking of coming out to Friday Night Frights on Friday, October 6th to catch Freddy's Dead in 3D, you just might snag a copy there. 'Cause we're gonna have a handful of them for giveaway. You're welcome.

'SHERIFF HOYT' SPEAKS TO THE PIT!

Listen up, you grabastic pieces of amphibian shit! On the heels of catching an advance screening of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, John Gray and Paul Salfen caught up with the one and only R. Lee Ermey, who plays Sheriff Hoyt in the film as well as Marcus Nispel's 2003 Texas Chainsaw re-imagining.

Sheriff Hoyt menaces a carload of vacationing teens.

Mr. Ermey, whose resume includes the starmaking turn as "Sgt. Hartman" in Stanley Kubrick's 1987 classic Full Metal Jacket, was very congenial and kindly submitted to an interview in which he details some of the physical hazards in playing such a brutal character as Hoyt. Many thanks for his time. Read and enjoy!

JOHN GRAY WITNESSES THE BIRTH OF FEAR....AND LIVES TO TELL ABOUT IT!

Having caught an advance screening, John Gray has breathlessly delivered his review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, making it presently (to our knowledge) the only other online review of the film apart from that of Harry Knowles. Click the graphic to your right or, alternately, right here and see why John asserts that this is the Chainsaw film that fans have been waiting for, second only to Tobe Hooper's original.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning opens wide October 6th.

INTO THE BLACK....'DAHLIA,' THAT IS!

James Ellroy wrote the bestselling novel in 1987, and it's taken nineteen years to get it to the screen, but beloved suspense director Brian De Palma has finally delivered a film adaptation of The Black Dahlia, a fictionalized account of a true-life gruesome murder of a young would-be starlet in the seamy world of late 1940's Hollywood. You will surely rememer De Palma as the director of such beloved genre films as Dressed To Kill and Blow Out. His new film has thus far received a positive box office response, although tepid reviews. Petch has offered his own opinion, however, which you can read in his review, and which you can also access by clicking the cute little poster graphic at your left.

And be sure to visit the official website for The Black Dahlia right here.

OH, YES, THERE WILL BE ROCK....AND A NEW TRAILER!

In anticipation of the opening of Saw III, which hits theaters October 27th, the Saw franchise teams up with WARCON RECORDS to begin “pulling out all the stops” with a show at Webster Hall in New York City, October 19th. The show focuses on the musical side of Saw.

The evening combines appearances by bands featured on the Saw III soundtrack, to be released October 24th, via Artist Addiction, WARCON Enterprises & Fontana Distribution. The night will be headlined by the infamous HELMET, The Smashup and Hydrovibe. The show will be hosted by Shawnee Smith (who stars as “Amanda” in all three Saw films). Special guests from the Saw franchise will also make appearances.

The show will also feature a Saw museum that includes: torture devices, headgear, set pieces and even Jigsaw’s infamous puppet “Billie” as well as other authentic props from the Saw franchise. All on exhibition for the first and only time ever. As an added bonus, true Saw devotees will be able to join the “Circle of Blood.” Circle of Blood participants will gain early access to the venue for a private meet and greet autograph session with Shawnee Smith, the bands, and members of the cast and will take home a commemorative bag of Saw merchandise.

For ticket information to participate in this special event, and to find out how to take part in the “Circle of Blood," click here.
