The Sci Fi Channel will air both 'Child's Play 2' and 'Bride of Chucky' on Thursday, Oct. 28, starting at 7/6C. During both movies, the creepy couple will answer selected questions submitted online - tune in to see if yours is one of the chosen few! "Get ready to meet Glen, offspring of the irrepressibly devilish Chucky and his equally twisted bride, Tiffany. When production starts on a movie detailing the urban legend of his parents' lethal exploits, the dolls' family dynamic turns deadly as Chucky and Tiffany "go Hollywood" and unleash a new spree of murderous mayhem on Tinseltown - much to gentle Glen's horror." Thanks to Sci Fi Inside.

Weaver Still talks Alien 5

Moviehole.net reviles that Sigourney Weaver still seems to be golden for doing an Alien 5, according to the IMDB. Weaver's keen for the fourth sequel to a smaller film, something suspenseful."I always said to Tom Rothman, who runs Fox, that I thought it would be interesting to do a small, spooky movie, more like the first one; a psychological thriller that could take Ripley to whatever the next stage may be. Which side would win out, the Jekyll or the Hyde?" Source: bloody-disgusting.com

The Lost Boys 2 news!

Dark Horizons reports that with the special edition two-disc set of The Lost Boys drumming up sales and interest, talk has begun once again about a sequel, which would reunite much of the cast. The cast included the famous Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.

The Munster's news

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "The Munsters" are coming to the big screen courtesy of the Wayans brothers. Keenen Ivory, Marlon and Shawn Wayans have struck a deal with Universal Pictures to take the 1960s television show about a family of friendly monsters who never quite get why people react in terror to them and give it a 21st century makeover.

The deal calls for the three Wayanses to write the screenplay as well as produce along with Rick Alvarez through Wayans Bros. Prods. There is a possibility that Keenen Ivory Wayans would direct, though no deal is in the works without a finished script. "The Munsters" aired on CBS from 1964-66. The Wayans version will stay true to the original characters, but will place them in a contemporary setting."

Some Important Scenes Cut from 'Alien vs Predator'?

Planetavp got and e-mail from a fan with what he calls "proof" that important scenes were indeed cut out of the Alien vs Predator movie, just like Paul Anderson said. He says he just finished reading the 'AvP' movie book, which is based on the screenplay. He found out that if you look in some parts of the featurettes and trailers, you will see parts that weren't in the theatrical release. That page (at the link above) shows lines in the book describing a scene - and pictures from the trailers/featurettes that show the same thing. Planetavp doesn't seem to remember any such scenes in the real movie, but they can't be 100% sure.

SITE UPDATES FOR AUGUST

The Hellraiser section was reinstated today. About time I hear you cry. The main reworking was to rewrite the pages, as they were wrote up quite some years ago. I may have been on crack.

However, I did manage to add some new material, mainly:

Two new character profiles and an insightful written piece by Clive Barker. Furthermore, the reviews of Hellraiser through to Hellraiser IV: Bloodline were revised, as too was the FAQ, Did you Know? and Mythology. If ever so slightly...

A brand new addition is "Matt & Petch Speak". We collected a few written articles we are responsible for, over the last number of years and put them back on the current site. Check them out and feel free to agree or disagree on Guts and Gory. Have fun.

Club Dread: If you are a fan of Club Dread like I am, then you'll be super excited to read about a brand new uncut version of the film, which hits stores September 28th. The final details have yet to be announced, however USA Today recently reported that the disc will add an additional fifteen minutes to the film, along with a total of twenty-two deleted scenes and a Broken Lizard commentary. Thanks to USA Today.

Blade: Trinity We all know that the intentions of New Line Cinema is to make a Blade spin-off with the Nightstalkers assuming all goes well with Blade: Trinity on December 10th. Inside David Goyer talks about the multiple endings he shot, that will appear on the DVD, which imply possibilities about the future of the franchise...

During an interview with AICN, David Goyer says: "There are definitely different endings that we've been playing around with, some versions of which will show up on the DVD as deleted scenes. We're doing a third test in the coming weeks, and that will be the ending that was scripted. We've never tested that ending, so we'll see how that goes. There were also a lot of differences of opinion as to... there are just a lot of different people with wildly opinions about how, as the third movie, it should end.

Everyone was very passionate about it, and I was surprised at the positions some of the party took...There could be another BLADE; there could not be another one. There could be a NIGHTSTALKERS; there could not be another one. There could be another BLADE without Wesley. New Line was willing to do that. It just depends... With Blade, there's only been one version, and it's always been Wesley. If it were a prequel, I could see the audience buying it. Would the audience buy it if it wasn't Wesley and it was a sequel? I don't know". Source: AICN.

Toolbox Murders: Lions Gate Films likes to play horror god- helping save tons of great films from collecting dust on the shelf. Fangoria reports that Lions Gate Entertainment has acquired Tobe Hooper's Toolbox Murders for U.S. video, with a fall 2005 release tentatively planned. "They really like the film," co-screenwriter Adam Gierasch tells Fango, "so much so that they are toying with the idea of a theatrical release, probably midnights." Thanks to fangoria.com

Hellboy: The Director's Cut: DVD Answers reports, "Columbia has announced Hellboy: The Director's Cut which is the latest film from director Guillermo del Toro. This new three-disc release will be available to own from the 19th October this year, and should be priced at around $34.95. The director has decided to introduce around twenty-minutes of additional and extended scenes for this new cut, bringing the total runtime to around 132 minutes. The set will include all of the features of the original two-disc set, with the exception of a new director's commentary replacing the old. Also new to the set will be over three hours of all-new bonus material, including the Comic Con 2002 Panel Discussion with Guillermo del Toro, Ron Perlman and Mike Mignola, a Mike Mignola Artwork Gallery with Commentary and much more. Completing the package will be an exclusive, limited edition "Excerpt from the Diary of Grigori Rasputin" created by Mike Mignola. We'll bring you the full rundown on specs shortly. Available from the same day will be a limited edition giftset that includes the three-disc director's cut along with a cool Sideshow Collectibles Hellboy statue. This will retail at around $59.95."

Anchor Bay to open up DEAD & BREAKFAST: Ambush Entertainment that the North American distribution rights for director Matt Leutwyler’s horror/comedy (emphasis on the comedy) DEAD & BREAKFAST have been acquired by Anchor Bay Entertainment. The home video and DVD specialist has been looking to cut its teeth on a theatrical release for some time (current candidates also include Dario Argento’s THE CARD PLAYER and the New Zealand ghost pic THE LOCALS), and was once eyeing to help George Romero get LAND OF THE DEAD up and running (or is that shambling?). According to Ambush, DEAD & BREAKFAST will receive some form of theatrical release in the first quarter of 2005; the film is currently branded with the notorious NC-17 by the MPAA, a rating Leutwyler and Ambush are appealing. Thanks to Fangoria.

RED EYE for DreamWorks: Wes Craven is taking a break from Dimension pix, has signed to direct RED EYE for DreamWorks. This project (which is no relation to the zombie film of the same title) is a thriller in which a woman is held captive on an airplane by a villain who threatens to kill her father unless she arranges the murder of a prominent businessman. The script is by Carl Ellsworth, previously a fantasy-TV specialist (including the "Halloween" episode of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER), and the movie will be produced by the Benderspink company, with a late-2004 start date being targeted. Craven is just coming off the problem-plagued shoot of the Dimension werewolf film CURSED, and is also overseeing the company's third PROJECT GREENLIGHT project, a horror film entitled FEAST, to be directed by John Gulager from a script by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunston.

The John Carpenter of the 21st century?

Created as the middle section of a three-part trilogy, Malevolence is the tragic story of a group of bankrobbers on the run from the law, who hide out in an abandoned house on the outskirts of town, unaware it is next door to the home of a family of serial killers. After one of their hostages escapes and runs for help, all hell breaks loose when she runs to the WRONG house.

The Pit reckons this might well be the horror movie of the year after checking out the trailer. Considering this is the director's (Mena) debut movie, it looks very promising indeed...

MICK#7 ROCKS LEATHERFACE AXE AT OZZFEST!

It doesn't get anymore ROCK than this people. As you know, a prototype custom Leatherface Schecter Guitar was recently developed, thanks to the excellent artist Lisa Marano of EfexAlive. Andrew Bryniarski himself oversaw the development of the AXE and took it to the recent NAMM show in Nashville.

Furthermore, Andrew brought the beast to Ozzfest and MICK#7 played the guitar during the Slipknot set. The band also signed the guitar. Go to Andrew's official site for all the news and pics of the guitar...

Rock on!

EL CHARRO ROCKO: Andrew Bryniarski is putting together the soundtrack for the upcoming Horror movie El Charro. All we can say is that it promises to be...heavy... www.andrewbryniarski.net

Alien vs Predator: A lot of people are starting to freak out because FOX has revealed that Alien vs Predator will be PG-13! Lets hope that the movie will still be good. Thanks to FOX.

Hellboy 2: Quillermo del Toro spoke to Moviehole.net about Hellboy 2, "I start writing it in the Fall and then it'll depend on how fast we get a script we're all happy about and how fast we can work out a budget and a date. It's in the future, but I wouldn't put a date on it. In the next Hellboy adventure he'll (Hyde-Pierce's Abe Sapien) have a more prominent role. She'll be back (Blair). Jeffrey Tambor will be back. We will have a good class of weirdos around."

George Romero and American McGee to Make the BLOODIEST Game EVER!

Gamespot writes: Although Oz has yet to find a publisher, American McGee is already planning his next project. On his personal Website today, the iconoclastic game designer revealed he is collaborating with George A. Romero, legendary director of Night of the Living Dead. The project, called City of the Dead, is being developed by Asylum Entertainment.

"Recently, my company Tmiec partnered with Asylum Entertainment to bring to life a new Romero concept called City of the Dead," said McGee on his site. "We're now in the process of shopping the interactive rights to games publishers." As one would expect from a Romero project, the game will involve zombies and gore galore. "The tagline for the product is 'the goriest game ever made," said McGee, adding modestly, "We hope to bruise a few psyches with this one."

While McGee's site gave no indication about which platforms City of the Dead would be released for, it did supply several pieces of concept art as well as a concept overview for publishers.

Seed of Chucky: Bloody-disgusting.com has the monster of ALL spoilers I don't even want to post it. I'm just going to give the link. Luckily, I have not read it myself. Apparently, someone sent over there the entire story to Seed of Chucky in one giant paragraph. If you want to know the whole story and be spoiled before the movie even comes out. Click the Link and enjoy.

House of Wax gets pushed back: Dark Horizons reports that the Elisha Cuthbert/Chad Michael Murray horror remake House of Wax, which was originally scheduled for release this Halloween, has been massively pushed back to June 30th 2005. This puts it up against M:I-3 and "Fantastic Four", so expect this date to change again- and again- and again. Dark Castle's remake of the Vincent Price classic also stars Paris Hilton, Jared Padalecki, John Abrahams, Brian Van Holt, Emma Lung and Damon Herriman.

Sequel to 'Valentine and Happy Birthday': Canadians John Dunning and André Link, whose résumés include producing early films by David Cronenberg, William Fruet and Ivan Reitman, were also the moguls behind two of the most beloved entries in the early '80s slasher cycle, 'My Bloody Valentine' and 'Happy Birthday to Me'. Though financially successful, neither film spawned a sequel at the time, but now, Dunning tells Fango, follow-ups to both are in the very early scripting stages.

"We sort of shot the bolt there," Dunning says of 'Happy Birthday to Me', which hits DVD from Columbia TriStar October 26. "We never thought we could top it." Nevertheless, co-screenwriters Timothy Bond and Peter Jobin have come up with a 10-page outline detailing the murderous adventures of the teenage daughter of the first film's killer. "Tim and I just did it on our own," Jobin says. "At some point or another we were talking about fun things to do, and then I said, "What about 'Happy Birthday to Me' 2?""

Dunning himself has taken on co-scriptwriting duties for the as-yet-untitled 'My Bloody Valentine' sequel. With nearly 10 minutes of gory footage removed from the original film and not replaced on the Paramount DVD release, Dunning plans to write dream/flashback sequences that will allow him to incorporate the cut violence into the new picture. "They [Paramount] won't release anything that isn't MPAA-rated," Dunning notes. "But they didn't cut it out. We cut it out because we had to deliver an R picture. I have the negative here in my office. We're through the first act and starting on the second," Dunning says of the progress on the script.

No shooting dates, cast or directors have yet been set for either production. Thanks to Fangoria.

Saw and Cursed also get date changes: Lions Gate Film's edge-of-your-seat thriller Saw has been bumped back from a September 17th release to an October 1st release- now that Cursed has been pushed back until 2005. An October release makes more sense for a film like James Wan's Saw, which has many Dario Argento-like horror themes in the film. There is no real word on what date Cursed has now. They say February 25, 2005 but I see that changing. From Bloody-disgusting.com.

Exorcist: The Beginning: Everything just keeps going wrong, even after re-shooting the entire movie with Renny Harlin, they still have more challenges to face, such as the dreaded MPAA, who has just slapped the film with a NC-17 rating. This film is going to be crazy since it has an NC-17 rating now.
