ANOTHER REMAKE?!?

Michael Gingold reports...

"After months of rumors, Variety reports that Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company, which produced the successful remakes of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, will next bring THE HITCHER back to the screen. The company has pacted with Rogue Pictures on an update of the 1986 thriller in which desert driver C. Thomas Howell is plagued by a murderous, unstoppable thumber played by Rutger Hauer. While not a box-office hit at the time, the original became a cult film on video, enough to spawn a direct-to-DVD sequel a little while back. "Someone mentioned the title and I said, 'That's the one we should do,' " Bay tells the trade. "I loved it as a kid, and we can add some cool twists and turn it into a rocking film." One such switch, he suggested, was that the put-upon protagonist might be female this time.

A writer will be signed soon for the new HITCHER, and Platinum Dunes is also apparently down to three finalists for the job of directing the CHAINSAW prequel it is currently developing. The company has two other projects in the works with Rogue, THE HORSEMAN and THE SURROGATE."

Brooks does it again...

Many of you already know about Brooks, the "guitar guy". He travels from convention to convention getting horror celebrities to sign custom horror axes conjured up by his twisted soul.

Last time I saw him, he was at the Fango con' back in January 2004 (in NJ), with a beauty of a "Friday the 13th" custom guitar, sporting the infamous Jason Live's hockey mask on the body. Suffice to say, he got all the Friday signatures at that convention...and appeared on the reason Paramount boxset!

Now he is at it again, this time with a Jeepers Creeper's custom axe. I've seen the artwork, front and back, but I can't share all that yet. All I can say is that it is a fine piece and that Brook's has done it again.

Check out his websites for ALL the details on his past projects, horror or not:

Horror Idols anybody?

The brainchild of self profressed horror fan, Neal Deconte, here are a few words from the man himself...

"... acompany started by a fan, for the fans out there. Our company will be specializing in originally-sculpted, pre-painted, and autographed figurines of the stars of modern horror films. These pieces are carefully crafted to pay homage to the actors and actresses that have endured many long hours in make-up chairs to bring these creatures to life."

Neal and Jim Groman have already developed a 1/4 scale Leatherface sculpt that Andrew Bryniarski himself named, "Leatherhead". Check out the site for all the details.
