Donnie Darko directors cut: Variety www.variety.com
reports that coming this July to theaters from
Newmarket Films is Richard Kelly's brilliant film,
Donnie Darko: Director's Cut, which stars Jake and
Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Dawn of the Dead #1 at the box office: Looks like Dawn earned it's entire production budget back in one weekend with $27.3 million, on it's way to becoming the highest grossing zombie film of all time.
Hack/Slash: "Producer Adrian Askarieh's Prime Universe Prods. has signed a two-year first-look deal with comicbook company Devil's Due Publishing. First project to come out of alliance will be the upcoming horror pic "Hack/Slash," to be released in April.
Van Helsing: New photos, mostly of Frankenstein, are up at Bloody Disgusting.
Sin City: "Leonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Willis, Elijah Wood, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy, Kate Bosworth and Jaime King have been targeted for the film, an adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel series. Some of the actors have already signed on for parts in the pic, while others are only in discussions or have just received offers to join the cast. Other names being bandied about include Benicio Del Toro and Maria Bello.
King Kong: Jack Black is apparently in quiet negotiations for a small role.
The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel: "Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment have scared up this horror thriller with Scott Derrickson attached to direct. A true story from 1976, the Catholic Church officially recognized the demonic possession of an 18-year-old German college freshman. During her exorcism, the young woman died, and a priest stood trial for causing her death
Spider-Man 2: MSN reports that patrons in Australia can be the first in the world to see the new Spiderman 2 trailer before sessions of "50 First Dates" from Thursday this week. It's screening at Hoyts cinemas before it's available on the internet.
Kill Bill, Vol. 2: The European premiere of Kill Bill, Vol. 2 will be at the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival in the Netherlands.

Ring 2: Hideo Nakata, director of the original Japanese Ring and Ring 2, replaces Noam Murro as director of The Ring 2. This will be Nakata's American film debut.
Pet Sematary reamke: Face/Off writers Mike Werb and Michael Colleary have signed on to write a remake of Stephen King's Pet Sematary.
Nightfall: Warren Zide and Craig Perry, producers of the Final Destination films, will next produce Nightfall. The film will be about a couple guys who kidnap a woman,but soon realize they've kidnapped a vampire queen and her followers want her back.
