THE SKELETON KEY
When I first decided to take in The Skeleton Key, I had heard nothing but bad word-of-mouth. How could anything that is PG-13 with a plot that makes The Boogeyman look like an easily digestible whole warrant viewing? As much as I disagree with those statements now, they aren't exactly untrue. Some would say the plot has more holes than Swiss cheese. I'll get to all that a little later; right now I'll just glean over the positives.
What The Skeleton Key has going for it is the same thing Fulci’s The Beyond had going for it. A wonderful atmosphere backed up by beautiful cinematography, and while the score here pails in comparison to the classic direction and score provided for The Beyond, it's still quite adequate and often effective.

UNDEAD
If you are a horror fan and you haven’t seen Undead, you seriously owe yourself something.
This movie will blow you away. A comedic horror splatter fest, brothers Michael and Peter
Spierig reinvent the zombie genre with their own wacky, Peter Jackson-esque style.
Undead is the story of the peaceful, rustic town of Berkeley, a charming fishing community
where life is sweet and the people friendly. But all that is about to change. After losing
her childhood farm to the bank, local beauty Rene (Felicity Mason) decides to leave town and
head for the big city. Suddenly, an avalanche of meteorites races through the sky, bombarding
the town and bringing an otherworldly infection. Departing is going to be much more difficult
than she had planned. The living dead are awakened and Rene is now caught...

THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER
Just like the House of Wax remake should have been called House of WHACK! the latest entry in
the undying Crow series should have been titled The Crow: Wicked Crap. The film is hardly worth
a review, but serves as more of a warning to totally avoid this film at all costs. After it was
over, my little brother said, "Now I have to go watch the original again to burn this garbage
from my memory," and that’s the damn truth.
Wicked Prayer follows Luc Crash, the charismatic gang leader of a ragtag band of Satanist bikers
named after the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Luc murders Jimmy Cuervo (Edward Furlong) and
his girlfriend Lily as part of a ritual to become an immortal demon, but Luc finds that Jimmy has
been transformed into the avenging spirit known at The Crow, intent on stopping Luc before he
can become the Lord of the Flies.
