Teens In Peril!!!

The Funhouse (1981): See Elizabeth Berridge (Amadeus) show her breasts in her first starring role. The story? Oh yeah, four teenagers decide to sneak in and stay the night inside a traveling carnival's funhouse. They end up sorry they did, as one of the circus freaks in the show is truly a monstrously-deformed homicidal maniac who terrorizes them accordingly. Actually scary and atmospheric, this is a decent way to spend "movie night." On a somewhat bizarre note, bestselling author Dean Koontz was commissioned to write the novelization of this movie's script, though he wisely released it under the pseudonym Owen West.

Cheerleader Camp (1987): A killer stalks a camp for cheerleaders. Is it the girl with the high hopes and the bad dreams? The alcoholic handy-man? The sherrif? The mascot with nothing to lose? I'm not gonna tell you, and you won't even care when you watch this. I liked the pruning shears murder, but that was about it. I've seen this film replicated in a hundred others. Also, don't get your hopes up, you don't see that many boobs or blood. I can't believe former 70's teen idol Leif Garret was in this. He must have really needed the money.

Return to Horror High (1987): A different kind of movie. It's sorta a movie within a movie within a flashback within a mess. Lots of gore and boobs, but I couldn't figure this film out to save my life. It's basically a story told by the screenwriter, the police officers, the directors, the crew and the cast. So far, a film crew goes back to the high school where strange murders took place five years before. Sure enough, the film crew start to get killed or do they? Watch for Maureen McCormick and George Clooney and just keep telling yourself...it's only a $1.50 rental...it's only a $1.50 rental....
