Nancy Thompson is a typical American kid. Her idyllic existence is abruptly shattered by a series of horrorible nightmares - the monstrous stalking by a fierce cold-blooded killer. When describing her haunted, sleepless night to her closest friends, they realize they too have been plagued by the same hallucination. Their only defence, she claims, is to stay awake. Her family fears that her sanity is slipping away, even as her friends are systematically slaughtered in their sleep.

It's been five years since Nancy Thompson waged herlast battle with Freddy Krueger in that sinister house on Elm Street.
Jesse Walsh, the son of a new family in town, starts having bad dreams - he soon realizes there is some evil in the house. Many disturbing signs lead Jesse and his new girlfriend Lisa to try to figure out what's happening. They discover the grisly details about the local child-murderer, Freddy Krueger, who was burnt to death by twon citizens years ago.
Jesse's dreams are becoming frighteningly real, he feels himself succumbing to Freddy. After a bloody nightmare about the slaying of his own gym teacher comes true, Jesse is convinced it wasn't Freddy Krueger, but himself, who was the murderer and that Freddy has posessed his body. Jesse confides in Lisa, who resolves to help rid him of the posession. A rampage of terror follows...

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET PART 3
A puzzling epidemic of teenage suicides is sweeping the town of Springwood. At Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Neil Goldman is perplexed by a motley crew of teenagers and their overwhelming fear if what seems to be a shared nightmare. No one has come up with any answers, but when Dr. Nancy Thompson, the only survivor of an earlier epidemic of sucicides, joins the staff, things begin to change.
She knows the kids are being tormented by the grisly spirit of Freddy Krueger, a child-murderer who was brutally burnt to death by a vigilante mob several years ago and who is now wreaking his revenge on the children of those who killed him.
Group therapy sessions at the hospital are not going well. Nancy tried, in vain, to convince the other doctors that the monstrous presence in the kids' dreams is real. Using group hypnosis, Nancy and Neil help the teenagers to enter a dream state, with disastrous consequences. In an abandoned wing of the hospital, a mysterious nun cousels Neil to use faith, not just science, to conquer Freddy, and tells him to bury Freddy's remains in hallowed ground, in order to break his murderous rampage.
Freddy's remains are unearthed and a makeshift grave gives Freddy the burial that will free him and his victims forever.
